Dick Vitale Has Trouble Staying On Topic...

If anyone is merely a casual fan of college basketball or watches ESPN during the winter months, they are bound to see Dick Vitale in all his yelping, hyperactive, Duke loving glory. And if you are familar with him there are probably a few things you associate him with: His sayings of "yeah baby!" and calling people "diaper dandies", his love for Duke, and his tendency to drift away from the topic at hand.
Courtesy of Deadspin, I came across this site that kept track of all the things that Dickie V. talked about during the Louisville/Connecticut game that had absolutely nothing to do with the game he was broadcasting at the time. They came up with 156 items. Let's say it was an average 2 hour game, that means he is going off topic more than once a minute! Here are some things he talked about...

1. Duke
2. Mike Krzykewski
3. Duke's 1986 Team
22. N.C. State women's team
45. Frank Sinatra
47. Lou Carnesecca
69. Tom Brady
74. Mario Boggan
142. Fran Franschilla

How on earth did these things get brought up? There is absolutely no way Frank Sinatra or Fran Franschilla were in any way relevant to the game at hand is there? Were they playing word association on the air or what? Wow, he's entering Tim Jamison territory.
