Unusual Marketing Strategies: Part Three

I am a chronic insomniac and sometimes weird things happen when you're awake for too long and seeing this commercial was one of those things. I was watching M*A*S*H on a local channel at some odd hour of the night about two years ago and a commercial for Norton Furnitue came on. Something kind of like this...




Okay, the first twenty seconds of every Norton Furniture commercial all have that same exact monologue ending with the now epic line "My name is Marc and you can count on it!" At the end of every one though, it takes an odd twist. This one ends with 'The Ghoul' trying to cut off his ponytail. The Ghoul is a recurring character in these characters who tries to cut off his ponytail. I remember one time he needed a new ponytail so he could get a new 'ponybeard'. The commercials and characters keep getting more and more bizarre, but more and more mesmerizing too.

(EDIT: Wow! I watched this video again and I hadn't really thought about this before, but that is not just a stuffed frog. There is someone in that frog suit and as the couch falls backwards he reacts. Insane!)
